Billiards with your dog?
Treibball or Urban Herding is like playing a game of billiards with your dog acting as the cue stick. This is a great team building sport that originated in Germany in the early 2000’s and came to the USA around 2007. There are several training organizations dedicated to using positive reinforcement to train this fun game.
National Association of Treibball (NATE)
NATE is one of the organizations dedicated to making Treibball a fun, safe and challenging sport where dogs and handlers at all levels can participate. NATE is allowing video titling so teams are able to compete at their level on their own timeframe opening the sport to a wider array of teams than traditional dog sports allow.
Treibball Team Sugar Magnolia
Alyssa and Sugar Magnolia (“Lia”) have been playing Treibball since Lia was a wee pup in 2015 and have earned several titles through NATE. They also play with agility, tricks, nose work and have dabbled a bit with traditional sheep herding. Lia’s happy place is either in the Treibball arena or on a hiking trail.
